Bicycling vibes and fabulous food at Look Mum No Hands Café in Shoreditch

Winning the prize for the most cool and timely combination of café culture and cycling, LMNH, as it is affectionately known, is a must-visit eatery on Old Street. I went there with the other half to watch Bradley Wiggins win the Tour de France and needless to say, as a café for bike nuts, the place was packed. Fabulous food, including organic salad plates (beetroot and feta, pearl barley with pesto) and gluten free cake make this a fab place to stop even if you aren’t fussed about the bike.

The cycling vibe here, however, means that even the biggest detractors will be encouraged to get on their trusty steeds and join the cycling massif. Not just for Shoreditch trendies, there were also plenty of lycra-lovers and girls just out for a gentle jaunt on their beautiful old school Dutch bikes. Cycling memorabilia and merchandise adorns the walls and they even run bike mechanics courses for the uninitiated like me. The community feel of this place is what makes it for me along with being able to combine two of my favourite things – bicycling and great food. What more could you want on a Sunday afternoon?
